The middle school guidance counselor is available to readily assist families with a vast array of issues, including academics, social and personal concerns, and educational and career planning. By providing services such as individual and group guidance, student appraisal, teacher consultation, parent education programs, student orientation and transition activities, and resource referral, the guidance function has the goal of helping students to make those choices that will lead to success in all aspects of school life and beyond. Parents may request a conference with the middle school guidance counselor at any time by calling the guidance office at (201) 393-8156 to make an appointment. Students can go directly to the office at any time to see the counselor or to make an appointment. Parents are encouraged to notify the guidance counselor of any difficulty a child may be experiencing so that as much personal assistance as possible may be offered.
The American Girls Series
has several great books pertaining to middle school problems and issues. I
have one copy of each book in my office that students can borrow, or
the books can be purchased on-line or in any bookstore.
